An original, new way to develop strength and something you can do away from the gym, either in your own home, in the garden or on the training field with your team.
The concept of DYNA-BAND® originated in hospitals for use in rehabilitation, to strengthen and repair muscles after injury. This idea has been developed further to produce a fitness/training aid to enhance players’ physical performance.
Football is a physically demanding sport. Women, especially, can develop muscle imbalances by only working on traditional weight machines in the gym, or only doing certain training drills - this may lead to more injuries in the unconditioned player. Football specific fitness needs to be increased by performing exercises to strengthen and stretch a range of muscles, and therefore in turn, resulting in improved performance.
Kicking power and running speed is determined by how fast leg muscles contract. Strong and flexible lower body muscles permit greater acceleration of the leg muscles resulting in faster running speed and more powerful kicks. Enhanced speed can be achieved by performing Dyna-band exercises to isolate and condition the specific muscle fibres that generate kicking speed and quickness around the field.
What is the ESP Football Programme?
The ESP football Programme using the Dyna-Band includes easy to perform exercises targeting the muscles specifically used in football. By providing resistance for muscles to work against, the DYNA-BAND® will:
• Enhance players flexibility, speed, agility and endurance
• Build/strengthen muscles and encourages muscle balance (especially in the young)
• Increase kicking speed resulting in more powerful kicks
• Increase running speed and reaction time
• Decrease risk of injury and aid rehabilitation
When used in a training or warm-up programme, DYNA-BAND® exercises encourage muscle balance and can aid injury prevention by working the lower limb muscles, which can be prone to injury. Certain key exercises performed with the lighter resistance DYNA-BAND® are ideal for rehabilitation if injury does occur.
Physical strength is also an important aspect in achieving peak football specific fitness and the versatility of the DYNA-BAND enables an entire body workout, ensuring total fitness.
Many of the exercises involve slow, controlled movements allowing a combination of exercises to be performed simultaneously; this will help players to improve their co-ordination. Other exercises require a partner/ partners, hence training with the DYNA-BAND® Fitness for Football allows players to communicate, trust, cooperate and most importantly bond with the rest of the team.
Choose the resistance level that is right for you:
The DYNA-BAND® product is colour coded according to its strength of resistance, catering for all abilities and levels, from the young amateur to the fitter football professional. This feature also allows for progression and development.
PINK (light) - for rehabilitation after injury and younger players
GREEN (medium) - use for warm up and speed, agility and flexibility training
PURPLE (heavy) - will maintain muscle strength and increase speed
The Portable, Versatile Training Aid
The Dyna-band requires minimal space and is cost effective, its portability and versatility makes it ideal as a training aid to maintain strength and flexibility while traveling. It’s ideal for team training session, plus individual players can take the DYNA-BAND® away and train at home!
