Cardiff City Ladies retained the FAW Cup with a 3-1 win over Cardiff Met at Parc Y Scarlets, Llanelli on Tuesday evening.

A vocal crowd of 348 attended the Final and they were also treated to the UEFA Women's Under 19 finals draw at half-time which was also screened live on

The match itself was evenly contested and was a very good exhibition of women's football in Wales, as many UEFA officials watched on. The holders Cardiff City Ladies took the lead in the second minutes through Kelly Aldridge, but the students responded well.

They restored parity later in the first half with an excellent volley from Emily Brown that not even Wales keeper Rhian Noakes could get close to. The sides went in at the break level before the UEFA draw took place, with Wales drawn in a group with Denmark, England and France.

The City Ladies started the second half in great style and quickly scored twice with Player of the Match Paige Stewart scoring from the penalty spot to cap a fine individual performance which saw her scoop the star player award from UEFA Women's Committee member Sheila Begbie MBE.

There were no further goals as City closed the game out despite the students' efforts to the end.

Neither are workable or likely at present but hypothetically, would you prefer a more strict salary cap in the FA WSL OR should centrally contracted England players (that receive salaries from The FA) be allocated more evenly around WSL1 clubs?
