3rd Annual Lois Russell Tournament

This year's event will take place on June 5th-6th, at Reading Town FC, with sections for U-10s right through to open-age.

Plans are well under way for the third Lois Russell (all female) Football Tournament. Previous entrants will know that this is a tournament with a difference, not least because it has a real feel good factor to it.

The inspiration to put on a top quality ladies/girls football tournament came as a result of a tragic event. Lois Russell was a young girl who had a real zest for life. As an exceptionally talented sports woman, she held the title of British Champion in her field. Sadly, Lois lost her life in a tragic accident on 30th January 2008.

Format: 5 and 6 a-side competitions
Ages: Open to all ages from under 10’s, 11’s, 12’s, 14’s & 16’s plus for the first time an Open Age Ladies division
Venue: Reading Town Football Club, Scours Lane, Reading RG30 6AY

The tournament has 3 main aims.
1. To indulge in the memory of Lois, her passions and achievements in life.
2. Raise money for Lois’ two favourite charities – Daisy’s Dream and Island Farm Donkey Sanctuary as well as making a donation to the Reading Town Football Club.
3. High quality tournament played on the best facilities. Played in the correct spirit of the game and enjoyed by players, supporters and spectators.
