Leicester Land Westerman

Leicester City Women FC have signed Vicky Westerman, a 26 year-old midfielder from Preston North End.

Leicester Manager Luke Turner says "I'm really pleased we have been able to sign Vicky. She is an experienced player in this league and someone who can add depth to our squad just when we need it going into the back end of the season.

"She is a physical player but has also got an attacking threat to her game. She hasn't played for 3 months so she is going to be a little rusty to begin with but I'm sure she will fit in nicely with the squad we have and I'm looking forward to a few more headaches when coming to selection. The competition for places should bring out the best in everyone."

Vicky says "I'm happy to join Leicester. I believe the club have a bright future and I'm happy to be a part of this. I just hope I make a positive impact at the club and I can't wait to get playing again, everybody from the players to the coaching staff and the committee have made me feel very welcome, so it was very easy for me to sign."
