Futsal Championships Approach Climax

It's a busy three of days for the British Futsal team in Novi Sad, Serbia, as they enter the final stages of the 12th World University Championships.

They are in action today at 11am (GMT), as they look to get back to winning ways after suffering defeats earlier in the week.

The GB Women face another tough test as they take on an undefeated and free-scoring Portugal team. The Portugese held a three-week training camp in preparation for the Championships and it looks to be paying dividends, with 29 goals scored and only 4 conceded in their 3 games.

The British girls will be looking to find the net again, having been shut out by an outstanding Brazil side in their previous game, which included 10 of the current Brazilian National Futsal side.

GB women finish on Sunday against France, with the winner set to take 4th place.

"If the girls can get another win, it would be a magnificent achievement for them to finish 4th in their first tournament at this very high level," commented George Carney, BUCS Football Development Manager.
