Julie was assessed by the Scotland medical team and will play no further part in the qualifiers.
National coach Anna Signeul said: “Obviously it’s a blow. Julie played very well on Saturday and we will miss her presence both on and off the pitch.
"But we have good depth in our squad and I am absolutely confident that we are capable of putting in a good performance in Denmark on Wednesday.”
Speaking after Sunday’s game, Julie said: “I made a blocking tackle and I felt it right away. That’s what I get for making a tackle, I don’t do that very often.
“My first thought was how can I get back up and get back on the pitch. I managed to get to half time but it became clear that I wouldn’t be able to carry on.
“Denmark is the last game in the group and it will be a massive disappointment to miss out.
“I think the team can be confident going into Wednesday’s game. We scored four goals against Greece and played relatively well.
“We obviously had quite a hill to climb after losing the early goal but we remained quite relaxed, there was no panic. We moved the ball well and we created chances. In the end I think it could have been more than four.
“Our chances against Denmark are very good. We lost 1-0 to them in June but we didn’t play at all well. To lose narrowly to a side like Denmark through a set piece when you’ve not had a particularly good game, we can take that as a positive.
"I don’t think there is a huge gap between the two sides now, whereas a few years ago there was.
“It’s a one off game now and the girls will throw everything at it to get the result that we think we deserve.
“We’ve always played well as a team but the difference now is that we’ve got so many players all over the park who can score goals.
“I think it’s a confidence thing . We’ve got players who want to get on the ball and take people on whereas before we maybe lacked the confidence to do that, we relied on our more experienced players. Now we’ve got a group of players who believe in themselves and who’re desperate to do well.
“Kim Little was player of the match against Greece and she is phenomenal.
"I’m fortunate to play alongside her week-in and week-out at Arsenal. She’s a fantastic player to watch, and she’s the kind of player that you want to have in your team. She’s got her head screwed on and I’m sure she’ll go on to bigger and better things.”
