Combination Round-Up

After just two rounds of South East Combination fixtures, there are no 100% records left!

Spurs lead the pack on four points, following a 4-1 victory at Ipswich Town. Newcomers, Braintree Town are in second after a 3-1 win at Old Actonians, despite fielding a makeshift side due to a dozen players being unavailable. Having fallen behind, replies from Sindy Godbold, Ella Tooley and Beth Irwin won the game.

Luton Town are in third after winning 3-1 at Enfield Town. Laveena Betts (2) and Candice Davies put Luton 3-0 up, before Fran Boggi scored a late consolation from the penalty spot. Meanwhile, Enfield have agreed a two-year deal with sponsors ORC Sports and all the club's senior sides will receive first and change kits. Norwich City are fourth, having seen off MK Dons 2-0. Cambridge were the day's topscorers, sinking Crystal Palace 7-0, while Lewes hit Ebbsfleet United for six.

Plymouth Argyle lead the South West Combination after the opening round of fixtures. Swindon Town were hit 6-0, Laura Gough grabbed a hat-trick, with one each for Katie Middleton, Laura Perrett and a penalty from birthday girl Tash Knapman (pictured right).

Chesham United put four past Southampton Saints, Oxford City netted the only goal at Gloucester City through Steph Mobbs. Forest Green Rovers went down 2-1 at home to Havant & Waterlooville, getting a goal back 15 minutes from time, after Laura Oakes and Charley Wilson put the visitors in command.

Cullompton Rangers were 2-1 winners over Newquay, despite having a penalty saved and conceding the lead. Angie Pope bagged both goals for Cully and also won the spot-kick.

Three sides have maximum points from two games at the top of the Northern Combination. Sheffield FC Ladies are top after a 1-0 win at Scunthorpe United, South Durham RA won 3-1 at Wakefield to go second and Salford are third after edging out Middlesbrough 3-2.

Tranmere Rovers' delayed start to the campaign saw them see off Liverpool Feds 2-0, Sheffield Wednesday and Bradford City drew 1-1, as did Stockport County and Mossley Hill.

The Midland Combination kicks-off on September 5th.
