Solihull, who finished one point above Stratford Town in the West Midlands League Premier Division, opted not to take promotion in place of Worcester, which leaves Stratford Town available to take up the exciting challenge.
The team have a new 1st team manager in Vaughan Smith, a 37 year-old level 2 coach, who has previous experience in ladies football, managing Fairfield Villa and Redditch United.
Stratford's pre-season friendlies got off to a winning start, with a 5-1 victory over Ferndale. Last year's club and league topscorer, Lisa Slowther had a hat-trick.
Stratford will kick off their new season in the Midland Combination on Sunday September 5th, with a home match against Northampton Town.
