United Win First Half Of Cambridge Cup Double

Cambridge United Reserves hit Cambridge City Development for six in the Cambridgeshire Junior Cup Final.

Wednesday's match at Ely City FC was the first in two consecutive nights of cup finals between the clubs, with the seniors meeting tonight.

Although Cambridge City Development are unbeaten champions of the S-Tech Cambridgeshire Championship South, Cambridge United Reserves are chasing down Newmarket Town and Netherton United for the Premiership title.

Teonie Peyton got the opening goal for the favourites, with Gabrielle Whitehurst doubling the lead 5 minutes before the break.

Lauren Gibson got the third and after a brace by Emily Rule, Gibson also netted a second to complete the scoring at 6-0.

City and United's first teams clash tonight in their County Senior Cup Final, being hosted by Histon FC, kick-off is 7.30pm.
