Royston Tackle Stevenage For Herts Cup

The Herts FA Cup Final takes place this Sunday (12th March), with a 3pm kick-off at The County Ground in Letchworth.

The Hertfordshire FA preview their Women's Challenge Cup Final between Stevenage and Royston Town:

Last year’s finalists Stevenage FC Ladies (pictured top) take on North Hertfordshire rivals, Royston Town FC Ladies this Sunday for the chance to reclaim the crown they last held in 2015.

The Boro team, currently playing out of Hertford Town FCs Hertingfordbury Park, come into the final in form, with two goals from Donna McGuigan enough to see them past Watford Development in the semi-final.

Royston come to the County Ground having scored 40 goals already in the competition, however the Crows – currently playing in the Eastern League – face a challenge as they go up against a Stevenage side from the FA Premier League.

Stevenage had not conceded a goal in the competition until the 2-1 win over Watford, having had a walkover against St Albans City Youth, won 5-0 over Colney Heath and gone one better away at Evergreen Eagles.

Royston's progress to the final has been somewhat notable in that they have hit double figures three times in four rounds. Dismissing Panshanger 12-1, they got another dozen goals against St Albans City's four, before thrashing Watton 14-0 and most recently edging out Stevenage Reserves 2-1.

Neither are workable or likely at present but hypothetically, would you prefer a more strict salary cap in the FA WSL OR should centrally contracted England players (that receive salaries from The FA) be allocated more evenly around WSL1 clubs?
