Based at Leon School and Sports College in Milton Keynes, the centre formally known as Bucks Female Academy is now looking ahead to the new season with confidence, after a number of centre changes and new links. As a result the centre is now able to offer some additional places for the new school year.
After three years as the Bucks Female Academy, the centre is now forging links in Milton Keynes and expanding both the coaching and academic programmes.
The programme is now led by a full time director, with support from assistant coaches who are all UEFA qualified. In addition, there is a full academic support network allowing students to study a wide variety of courses from NVQ to A levels and Btec.
The educational record of the school is excellent with a majority of last years students gaining places at University. The Academy also gives players the opportunity to become qualified coaches in a variety of sp
orts.
A full time director is now in place with a wide experience of coaching in both male and female professional academies. In addition, links have been formed with the MK Dons Ladies 1st and reserve teams, to allow further training and exit routes for the academy students. Guest coaches from both the ladies' and men’s teams will also deliver throughout the season as a result of the link.
With a limited number of additional places now available for the upcoming season, any female players between
the ages of 16-19, who would like the opportunity to combine full-time study with an elite level football programme, are encouraged to apply.
