The Birmingham County FA currently employ three Women and Girls Football Development Officers; Polly Fildes (Birmingham), Shelley Gudgeon (Black Country) and Rachael Blunt (Coventry, Solihull and Warwickshire). There are various opportunities for females to get involved in football across the county whether it’s playing, coaching or refereeing:

The next large event we’re hosting is on Wednesday 22nd September 2010 when England Women’s National Coach Hope Powell will be visiting Birmingham County FA. Working with U16 players from the county’s four girls Centre’s of Excellence; Aston Villa, Birmingham City, Coventry City and Wolverhampton Wanderers, Powell will deliver a practical coaching demonstration on the County FA’s pitch. She will talk through her session involving a full warm-up, main content and cool-down. This event starts at 6pm. Tickets are not required however to book your place please e-mail polly.fildes@birminghamfa.com citing ‘Practical Demo’.

Moving inside Rachel Pavlou (National Women's Football Development Manager) will then conduct a presentation on Women and Girls Football from a national perspective. Heather Cowan (Birmingham City Ladies FC Director) will speak about Blues Ladies prospect’s in the new Women’s Super League and there will also be a Question & Answer session with Hope, Rachel and Heather. The Q&A event will be 8 - 9pm. We have a limited number of tickets, allocated on a first come first served basis.
