The Greater London League side are staging a 24-hour 5-a-side marathon in May, in support of one of the club's youngsters who has leukaemia.

Petts Wood FC is a well established club, having been founded in 1946. Currently we are running 34 teams from under 7s to seniors, both male and female. The ladies team plays in Division 1 of the Greater London League.

Unfortunately, one of our under 15s has recently been diagnosed with Leukaemia. We all decided we wanted to do something to show that he had our full support during his treatment, which will take over three years.

We decided we would try and set a World Record in his name, so on the weekend of May 19th/20th, every team is taking part in a 24 hour 5 a-side marathon.

Each Petts Wood team is inviting a visiting club to be their opponents. This will lead to over 800 players taking part in the same match and this is the basis of the record attempt that we have registered at Guinness World Records.

If any ladies teams want to come and help do the night shift, please get in touch through www.pettswoodfc.net or email natalie.graves@hotmail.com.

And like most ladies teams, we are always looking for new players. so if you're interested, please contact us.
