This past month has seen us play only two games due to the adverse weather conditions. Our first game saw us take a trip to Farnborough College in the ESFA semi final. It was an important game for both teams which would see the winners proceed to the final of the cup which would be held at Accrington Stanley.
After a well fought 90 minutes Filton College came out on top with a victorious 5-1 win and reached our first final of the season. It was a great win for us after we had prepared thoroughly during training to perfect certain things, and this practice paid off. We now look forward to the final where again we will train hard and give everything we’ve got to come out as winners.
Our second game of the month was at home to Worthing in the league. It was a game we needed to win to keep our spot at the top of the table. We got off to a slow start, but after 15 minutes we finally broke into the lead. This lead kept on growing and by the end of the game it was a comfortable 10-0 victory for us, with goals coming from Paige, Annie, gabby, Jade and Sharla.
On a personal note I have been unable to play due to injury. Whilst being injured I have received superb treatment off the physio’s here at Filton College and I shall hopefully be back playing as soon as possible.
I would also like to mention that three of our college players; Paige, Daisy and Ellie represented England colleges. They were all involved in the match which was played here at Filton College against Australia colleges. It was a great game which ended up 1-1. Well done girls!
